Sheannette's Story

I have experienced sleep paralysis on multiple occasions throughout my life. The most memorable times were in my early twenties. I fell asleep in an extra bedroom in the house I grew up in while visiting my parents. My eyes were open, but I couldn’t move. At the foot of the bed was what appeared to be Death or the Grim Reaper. He stood as tall as the ceiling and was draped in a black hooded cloak. I could not see his face or hands…the hood hung over his face. He just stood there and I prayed and prayed. I had another experience that took place in my condo. I lived alone and was asleep in my bed. It was the middle of the night and my eyes opened. I could hear the voices of what sounded like my mother and grandmother arguing in Spanish over the Bible. I don’t speak Spanish. I knew they weren’t there, but I couldn’t move!!! I was so scared!
